Alcoholic Dream Came True

I had a dream many years ago that has come true about a warning of alcoholism with someone I know. So, I decided to do a teaching on Old Testament scripture on drunkenness’. Stories and lessons about alcohol are so true and wise to this day.

Proverbs 20

Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul. It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling

Ephesians 5:18 – And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Galatians 5:19-25 – Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 – Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

Proverbs 23:29-35 – Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?

Matthew 11:18-19 – For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.

1 Timothy 5:23 – Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities.

Romans 14:21 – It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

Isaiah 55:1 – Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Psalms 104:14-15 – He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

Isaiah 5:22 – Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:

7 Reasons to not use Alcohol

Interpersonal and social problems: Alcohol misuse can strain relationships with family, friends, and colleagues. It can lead to conflicts, arguments, and breakdowns in communication. Alcohol use can also negatively impact social interactions, professional performance, and overall social functioning.
Legal and financial issues: Alcohol-related behaviors such as driving under the influence (DUI), public intoxication, and other alcohol-related offenses can result in legal consequences, including fines, license suspension, and even imprisonment. Additionally, the costs associated with purchasing alcohol can add up, potentially leading to financial strain or other economic difficulties.
Mental health effects: While some individuals may use alcohol as a coping mechanism, excessive or prolonged alcohol use can exacerbate or contribute to mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. Alcohol is a depressant that can alter brain chemistry and negatively impact mental health.
Risk of overdose: Consuming large amounts of alcohol in a short period of time can lead to alcohol poisoning, which can be life-threatening. Signs of alcohol poisoning include confusion, vomiting, seizures, slow or irregular breathing, unconsciousness, and even coma or death. AICB
